Image quality

Wide open gives great sharpness all over and you find next to no corner softness, vignetting etc.
Stop it down to f/8 and you get little more sharpness and the lens is best here.

Build quality

All metal and very solid.
Have a nice feel to it.

Conclusion

Really good lens!
Great image quality at all apertures and built like a tank.
One can't ask for much more.
