Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm f/2.8

Specs:

Lens:
35mm

Aperture:
f/2,8 to f/16
9 bladed aperure

Focus:
Infinit to 0,36m (1,2ft)

Mount:
M42

Covers:
Standard 35mm film size (24×36 mm negative)

Image quality

Wide open have great contrast and center sharpness.
Soft corners that is quite near the center.
But it's fairly light and not that striking.

Stop it down and you get some really great results.

Build quality

This lens is in its own league!
All metal and every moving part feels great.
The aperture ring moves freely but have a little resistance to it.

Conclusion

Just awesome all over!
It looks great, feels great and takes great images.
But gets a thumbs down for corner sharpness wide open.
Its a very gradual soft focus so it's not that striking.

Thumbs up:
Love how this renders with great contrast.
Great center sharpness and it's really sharp all over from f/5.6 and above.
Build quality.
Focus distance of 0.36m (1.2ft)

Thumbs down:
Soft corners wide open.
