Carl Zeiss Jena
Posted by Bengt Köhler Sandberg 2013-05-12
Introduced in: 1934 - 58
Lens: Carl Zeiss Jena - Tessar 10.5cm f/4.5
Closest Focus: 1.5m (5ft)
Aperture: f/4.5 - f/32
Shutter: 1/250 to 1s + B (Bulb)
Copal Leaf shutter from Compur
Light meter: None
Takes 120 film
6×9 cm negative size.
As simple as it gets.
All metal and solid.
Operating + Sounds
Camera that are as simple as it gets.
But the simpleness is also something I like about these.
It is still somewhat lightweight for a 6x9 camera.
The Compur however is one of the noisier and made a lot of vibrations.
Some of my test pictures lost their sharpness because of this.
This camera was made under so many years so I would guess that you can find this with other improved shutters.
Zeiss made these cameras from 1934 to 58.
Good image quality
Bokeh / Flare
Portable and fairly lightweight for a 6x9
No flash sync or hot shoe
